Maddison Brown is a uni dropout from Rockingham and is currently studying fashion through south metro tafe. She came up with name Rustik just by brainstorming, she had a rough idea of the sort of style & design she wanted to create. She started to google words that associated with her style and rustic popped into her head, swapping the C for the K. it’s easier to find on IG.
It took her a while to get into fashion throughout high school, She steered away from arts & creative side of work and pushed more towards ‘safe’ options like nursing. Maddie got into uni and slogged it out for a year and a half before realising it wasn’t for her. Moving on to something equally as popular which was graphic design.Only lasting about 7 weeks!
It was Instagram that kick-started it all! Trawling through the gram and seeing her favourite label had posted a photo of their intern’s graduation and tagged a college, clicking on the tag to find the website, to find out it was for polytechnic west (now known as south metropolitan Tafe) soon after that Maddie enrolled herself in the fashion design and tech course, Now in her second year of study and loving/hating it, but mostly loving it.
Her first range is a collection of bamboo loungewear/daywear, kind of like chic pajamas you can wear out of the house! Maddie just wanted to create really simple designs in a great quality fabric, the aim was to make some really comfortable clothes that that can translate from the couch to the cafe.
